Baby Shaq in his first season almost avg 24/14/4 taking the Magic by himself from 20 wins to 40+ wins, losing out to the 8th seed cause of a tiebreaker. In the MVP rankings he was top7 but he was a top5 player from day one. In only his 2nd season, Shaq ranked as the 3rd best center in the league behind Hakeem n Robinson avg 29/13 and in his 3rd season avg 29/12 he was ranked as the second best center even though I thought he deserved the nod for MVP over Robinson. He took the Magic to the finals in only his 3rd season and against a prime Hakeem was doubled 18% more and after game 3 Shaq stats were 29/13/7/2.5blks on 60% shooting…. Hakeem after game 3 avg 32/10/5/3 on 47% shooting.

After losing another nail biter in game 3 putting Magic down 0-3 Shaq n Magic was already on vacation and just went through the motions in game 4. That game makes it look like Hakeem got the better of Shaq in the stats, but that’s really false it was Horry, Cassel, The Jet, Ellie who out played Anderson, Scott, Shaw and Grant. Anderson/Scott went 30 for 92 during that finals, giving Shaq no help. Shaq in his fourth season was already ranked as top50 player at only 24 years old and avg 27/12 against the Bulls basically cancelling out MJ stats but losing 0-4 to arguably the greatest team ever. After Shaq left Penny and the Magic fell apart!! Dwight Howard is a good player, but it’s not even a debate young Shaq was the best player in Magic history and it’s not even close!

So yes, after what Shaq did for that expansion franchise just 3 years prior to him showing up his #32 jersey should absolutely be retired! Magic just being spiteful because he won championships with two other franchises.
